Methodology | Local and Domestic Content Business List
At Local Content, we are singularly focused on advancing small business contracting, job creation, community benefit investments, and stakeholder engagement across infrastructure industries such as energy, construction, manufacturing, sports, and entertainment, to name a few. The benefactors of these efforts are supported by individuals and organizations grounded in local and domestic initiatives.
To ensure the authenticity and credibility of our Local and Domestic Content Business Awards, we deploy a two-part system that ensures the voices of taxpayers, industry, nonprofits, and government stakeholders involved in local and domestic content efforts are the sole determining factors in selecting the individuals and organizations we honor. Local Content and its subsidiaries do not nominate or select honorees or award winners.
I. Semi-Finalist via Public Voting
Once nominated, each nominee has a public voting profile created, which includes a brief narrative of how they are contributing to local content and/or domestic content impact related to each Most Influential and People’s Choice honor. A public vote then commences, where the public can cast their votes.
II. Finalist via Local Content Insights
Once the top nominees with the most public votes are selected, the finalists are determined based on a comprehensive analysis conducted through our Local Content Insights solution. This solution leverages data on public sentiment, media coverage, and digital engagement to assess the impact and effectiveness of each nominee’s efforts, resulting in a "positive public sentiment score" calculated as a percentage. These insights ensure that the finalists reflect the highest levels of influence and alignment with local and domestic content priorities. The top semi-finalist with the highest positive public sentiment score becomes one of our finalist honorees. Finalists are publicly announced as a group; however, we do not share the public sentiment scores with the public. Instead, these scores are privately shared with the finalists to support their local and domestic content efforts.
